Alexia Chatziparasidou
Clinical Embryologist, MSc

Alexia Chatziparasidou is a clinical embryologist with long experience of more than 45,000 IVF cycles. Her scientific interests focus mainly on the application of modern fertility preservation techniques. In 2007, Mrs Chatziparasidou completed her M.Sc. on Clinical Embryology with honors at the University of Leeds, and was certified in 2008 by ESHRE.  

In 2004, she founded Embryolab, a modern state-of-the-art assisted reproduction unit, and remains Director to this day. She co-founded the Embrolab Academy in 2013.


Dr Nicholas Christoforidis
Reproductive Gynecologist, Clinical Director
Embryolab Fertility Clinic, Thessaloniki, Greece

Nicholas Christoforidis is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist,  subspesialised in infertility and assisted reproduction techniques. After graduating from the Medical School in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Dr Christoforidis subsequently trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology in the UK. He has been a member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists since 2002.

In 2001, he was appointed as research fellow in human reproduction, at Imperial College and Hammersmith Hospital in London, where he trained extensively in IVF and assisted reproduction techniques.

He has been the clinical director of Embryolab Fertility Clinic since 2004. He is also a co-founder of the Embryolab-Academy, a non-profit foundation, focused on education, training and research in assisted reproduction.




Dr Christos Pappas
MD, M.Sc., Ph.D., BSCCP
Reproductive Gynaecologist

Christos Pappas is a Gynaecologist specialised in cervical diseases and colposcopy. He graduated from the Carol Davila Medical School in Bucharest in 1994. He then worked at the Agios Nikolaos Health Centre in Sithonia, Halkidiki as part of his practice and from 1998 to 2003 at the General Prefecture Hospital of Veria as a trainee in Gynaecology-Obstetrics and surgery.

From 2004 to 2007, he trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Great Britain and specialised in colposcopy and diseases of the cervix. In 2007, he acquired the title of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialisation in Greece and the Degree of the British Company Colposcopy and Cervical diseases (BSCCP).

He was awarded his PhD from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2008.

Since 2010 he has been working on Assisted Reproduction.

In 2016 he got his Master’s Degree on Biotechnology and Embryology of Human Reproduction, IVI-University of Valencia/Spain

He has published articles in scientific journals and conferences.



Dr Nikos Anesidis
Reproductive Gynaecologist, MD

Nikos Anesidis is a gynaecologist specialising in cervical diseases and colposcopy. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras in 2001. From 2001 to 2003, he trained at the General Hospital of Cephalonia and worked at a regional medical practice of Chionata, Cephalonia as a part of his practice.

From 2003 to 2007, he worked as an intern in Surgery and Gynaecology-Obstetrics at the General Hospital of Polygyros and the General Prefecture Hospital of Veria respectively. From 2007 to 2008, he trained at the North Devon District Hospital of Great Britain in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, specialising in colposcopy and diseases of the cervix.

In 2009, he acquired the title of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Specialisation in Greece and since then manages a private gynaecology practice in Thessaloniki. He has presented papers and studies at national and international conferences. In addition, he regularly attends conferences and seminars in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. In 2012, he joined the medical team at Embryolab as a permanent Gynaecologist partner.


Dr Marina Dimitraki
M.D., M.Sc., M.H.A., Ph.D.
Reproductive Gynaecologist

Marina Dimitraki is an Obstetrician and Gynecologist, subspesialised in Infertility and Assisted Reproduction. She graduated from the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2003 and completed her spesialisation in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University Hospital of Alexandroupolis.

In 2008 she received a grade of “Excellent” Master Degree in “Biology of Reproduction” (University of Thessaly) and in 2010 received her Master’s Degree in “Management of Health Units” (Hellenic Open University).  In 2014 she supported the doctoral thesis in the field of gynecological endocrinology, with grade “Excellent” and since then she holds a PhD of Medical School of University of Thessaly.

During the period 2011-2014 she specialised in Reproductive Medicine at the Assisted Reproduction Unit of the M / G Clinic of the University Hospital of Larissa – Certified European Centre of Expertise of European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology and European Board and College of Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

She has research work in the field of gynaecological endocrinology and assisted reproduction and her scientific work is  published in book chapters and  international journals.


Dr Michalis Kyriakides
Reproductive Gyneacologist

Michalis Kyriakides is a Reproductive Gynecologist specialised in Assisted Reproduction. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2005 and continued his specialisation in obstetrics & gynecology, which he completed at the University Hospital of Ioannina. After that he specialised in reproductive medicine and assisted reproduction in the University of Sheffield and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, where he earned an MSc title in Reproductive and Developmental Medicine with Distinction.

His scientific interests focus on the Gynaecological Endocrinology and Assisted Reproduction. His research outcomes has been presented at national and international conferences and his articles have been published in peer review journals. Since 2015 he has been a member of the medical team of Embryolab Fertility Clinic, as a Reproductive Gynecologist.




Martha Moysidou
Sr. Clinical Embryologist, M.Sc.

Martha Moysidou is a clinical embryologist with experience of more than 15,000 IVF cycles, while her scientific focus is on the implementation of PGD. She graduated in 1998 from the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Essex, UK and then completed her postgraduate studies with distinction in 1999 on “Human Reproductive Biology” in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Imperial College in London.

From 1999 to 2002, she remained in Great Britain, where she completed an internship in clinical embryology and worked as a member of the research programme and was joint-responsible supervisor for the postgraduate programme of students for Reproductive Medicine, Hammersmith Hospital and Imperial College School of Medicine. During this time, she delivered lectures on “Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis – the FISH method”.

In 2002, she began her professional activity in Greece, as a clinical embryologist at IVF units in Athens and Thessaloniki. Since 2008, she has been a member of the laboratory team of clinical embryologists at Embryolab, acting as Deputy Head of the Laboratory, and is responsible for the ISO Laboratory Unit.


Chara Oraiopoulou
Clinical Embryologist, M.Res.

Chara Oraiopoulou is a clinical embryologist specializing in the morphokinetic analysis of embryonic development and in preparing blastomeres from biopsied embryos for genetic analysis. Chara graduated in 2006 from the Department of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, before moving on to do postgraduate studies on “Reproductive Biology” at the University of Glasgow.

Since 2010 she has become an integral member of the IVF lab in Embryolab, and in 2013, she obtained the ESHRE clinical embryologist certification. She has an extensive knowledge on all IVF lab techniques, and a great dedication to treating infertility. She is also actively involved in all educational activities of the Embryolab Academy.


Marianna Papadopoulou
Jr. Clinical Embryologist

Marianna Papadopoulou is a clinical embryologist specialised in cryopreservation methods.  Marianna graduated in 2012 from the Department of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and attended a 3- month course at the Reproduction of Sciences Institute at Oxford University in Great Britain.

She started her internship at Embryolab in 2011, and subsequently joined the IVF team. She is a very committed team member with a great interest in the optimization of embryo cryopreservation and actively involved in all the laboratory activities. In 2016, she obtained the ESHRE certification for clinical embryology. She has supported all the hands-on sessions organized by the Embryolab Academy.


Glykeria Samolada
Biologist B.Sc., Sp. Genetic Advisor | M.Sc. Molecular Cytogenetic

Glykeria Samolada is a Biologist specialized in Molecular Cytogenetics and Genetic Counselling. She is highly experienced in research and the clinical application of molecular diagnostic techniques for infertility and monitoring of genetically inherited diseases.

She graduated from Biology Department (University of Thessaloniki) and took her Postgraduate Diploma in Conventional and Molecular Cytogenetics at the Medical School of Montpellier University. She got the PGCert in Health Sciences and Genetics (Plymouth University) and became a registered Genetic Counsellor by EBMG. Since 2007, she has been a research associate and Manager of the Cytogenetics and Genetic Counselling Departments at Embryolab.



Elli Chatzokou

Elli Chatzokou is a biologist. She graduated in 2012 from the Department of Biology, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH).

In October 2012 she started a two year Master of Science (MSc) in Ecotoxicology at Koblenz-Landau University of Germany, which she completed in November 2014. During her master program she completed a two-month internship in a private laboratory in Germany. At her internship she was trained for implementing Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) in a laboratory.

Since March 2016, she has been a member of the laboratory team at Embryolab.




Margarita Doumpogia
International IVF Coordinator

Margarita is a graduate from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, holding a B.A. in French Language and Literature. She has lived for many years in the USA, as well as in France. She speaks English and French and loves working in multicultural environments where team work is a prerequisite for a successful outcome.

Margarita has been working in the Public Relations sector for years. From September 2015, she is serving at the International Department of Embryolab as an IVF International Coordinator dealing mostly with the overseas countries (USA, Canada and Australia).

Anna Giovani
International IVF Coordinator

Anna holds a Master’s Degree in French Literature from the Sorbonne-Nouvelle Paris III University. She lived in France and speaks French and English. She worked for several years as a teacher and as a book translator. Later on she started working as an IVF coordinator, first at another IVF clinic in Thessaloniki and since 2012 at Embryolab IVF Clinic, focusing in the development of the French market. She believes that the role of a coordinator is to assist couples have a smooth and pleasant experience as they go through the emotional roller coaster of their fertility treatment.

Lefteris T. Morrou
Psychologist-Psychotherapist, M.Phil.
Head of Councelling Department

Lefteris T. Morrou is a Psychologist – Psychotherapist specialising in psychological counselling of individuals, couples, families. In 2008, he moved to Thessaloniki from Glasgow (Great Britain), where he had been living and working for the previous 13 years.

He graduated in 1999 from the Department of Psychology of Applied Social Sciences of the University of West Scotland in Great Britain. Up until 2005, he continued and completed his postgraduate studies in Great Britain in Psychology at the University of Glasgow, in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy at the University of Derby and in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Dundee.

At the same time, from 2002 to 2003 he worked as a Clinical Researcher at the University of Strathclyde in Scotland and from 2004 to 2007 at the Caledonian University in Scotland as a Clinical partner – Lecturer in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy and Counselling.

From 2000 to 2002, he worked as a psychologist at ENABLE Scotland. In his academic activity from 2002 to 2008, he was Head of Clinical Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy – Instructor and Supervisor of new therapists at The Priory Hospital (Glasgow and London) in Britain. Mr Morrou is in charge of the Psychological Support and Counselling Programme at Embryolab.
